Alpine reports help district make sense of and prepare materials for state and national accountability. From No Child Left Behind to State Accreditation to the State's School Accountability Reports, Alpine provides districts with the data they need to meet the requirements of various accountability mandates. Three examples are described below:

Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for No Child Left Behind

Districts subscribing to Alpine's Colorado Reporting System can download one-click Adequate Yearly Progress reports to meet Colorado's No Child Left Behind requirements. Reports are produced for each school and for the district according to Colorado's approved plan, so districts can spend their time interpreting the results instead of trying to figure out how to apply the very complex reporting rules. The AYP reporting tool include an appeals section that helps districts determine quickly if they made AYP according to the baseline reports, and if not, the system generates appeal reports with just a click.

School Accountability Reports (SAR)

In Colorado, only the state Department of Education has access to the entire state dataset as is needed to compute the actual Accountability Report ratings for each school. Alpine produces a document showing exactly which students were excluded from the school's SAR calculation along with the reason(s) for their exclusion. An accompanying table summarizes the impact of the exclusions on the school's proportion of students in each proficiency category as well as the impact on the weighted index. Districts can examine their weighted indices from one year to the next to get a sense of how they are likely to perform on the SAR.

State Accreditation

Each district's accreditation contract with the state is slightly different, so there is not an Accreditation Report in Alpine per se. Each year, districts are asked to respond to a series of questions during their accreditation review visit. Districts are able to use the tools available to them in the Alpine system to produce evidence quickly in response to many of these questions. Whether the issue is about closing achievement gaps, improving performance over time, identifying areas of concern, or longitudinal growth trends, the Alpine tools are flexibly designed to help districts respond to many different data needs.
