We believe that achievement data are an important catalyst for positive change and reflective practice in schools and districts. The interpretation of your data should result in adjustments to the teaching and learning process in the service of improved outcomes for students.

The Alpine website contains many support documents, descriptive report introductions, and links to help districts maximize the interpretability of their achievement data. The site includes resources that make explicit connections between test results and instructional interventions. Many districts use the support documents in combination with their achievement data as the basis of staff development activities.

Many clients contract with Alpine to provide additional on-site hands-on staff development with their teachers, administrators, and/or technical staff. These trainings are customized to meet the needs of each district or school. We want your staff to become highly skilled and efficient data users. Following these trainings, districts report a sharp increase in the interest-level and skills demonstrated by those in attendance. Below are some of the topic areas we have included in our trainings:

- Alpine Basics: An introduction to all systems
- In-depth training on a specific system (e.g., full day literacy system training)
- Assessment 101: A practical review of the things you might have learned about assessment in college
- Applications: Making connections between your data and instruction
- Ethics and Data Use
- Tech Topics: Uploads, data scrubbing, student groups, and ways to support school users
- Using data for goal-setting and accountability
